The conference is to be held at the University of Waikato in Hamilton, which is a major city
(population 100,000) in the North Island of New Zealand. Hamilton is at the centre of the prime
dairy farming region in New Zealand. December is a pleasant time to be in Hamilton, with bright
gorgeously blue skies and the highest temperature around 25 degrees (77 deg. Fahrenheit).
Swimming and surfing beaches and bush tramping are all within a 40 minute drive.
Sight-seeing
trips may include visits to metropolitan Auckland, or to Rotorua, with its cultural and geothermal
attractions, or to the Waitomo limestone caves with glow worms. A post-conference tour has
been arranged to visit some of these sights. You may find the following links useful if you want
to find out more about the city and the region.
