The half-day mini-conference on infrastructure planning is being held on Wednesday 13 December. This is part of the ORSNZ conference; however, you can also register for this event separately here.
This will be followed by an analytics forum event from 3-6pm.
The programme for the upcoming ORSNZ conference has been announced. If you are presenting, please check the date and time of your session, and if you have any issues please contact the conference chair Cameron Walker immediately.

ORSNZ is holding its Annual General Meeting during the upcoming ORSNZ conference on Tuesday the 12th of December from 12:20pm – 1pm.

The final submission date for abstracts for presentations at the upcoming ORSNZ Annual Conference have been extended until Tuesday November 7. Please submit your abstract by this date if you would like to present at the upcoming conference. (Unless you are entering the YPP, no paper is necessary.)
Dr John George unexpectedly passed away last Wednesday (November 1). John was a former vice-president of the Operations Research Society of New Zealand, and Editor of the Newsletter.

We would like to recognise John’s contribution to OR in New Zealand at the upcoming conference, so if you have any memories of John George which you would like to share, please email [email protected].
As part of the 2017 ORSNZ Annual Conference, there will be a 1-day mini-conference on Infrastructure Planning under Uncertainty on Wednesday 13 December. This day will begin with a plenary presentation by Prof. Michael Ferris (see the program for details), and end with an analytics forum event, and a discussion panel.
Also, we would like to remind you that Tuesday, 31 October is the final day for abstract submissions, as well as early-bird registrations. We welcome both practical and theoretical talks utilising either operations research, or analytics methods.
Plenary Speaker Confirmed
We’re pleased to announce that Professor Michael Ferris, the Optimization Theme Leader at the Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, will be a plenary speaker at the upcoming ORSNZ annual conference being held in Auckland, December 11-14.
This plenary will be held on the Wednesday morning (13 December).
Registration and Abstract Submission
If you have not yet submitted an abstract, please do so. October 31 is the deadline for both abstract submission, and the early-bird registration. Please try to submit your abstract in advance of this date, to enable us to provide responses in a timely manner.
